Autism Acceptance and Understanding Presentations for School Staff

ASNL's Autism Acceptance and Understanding sessions give school staff practical knowledge and strategies to create more inclusive, neuro-affirming learning environments. Grounded in current research, lived experience, and Autistic-led resources, these sessions are designed to be useful whether you are new to learning about autism or looking to build on your existing knowledge.

  • Current understandings of autism and neurodiversity

  • Autistic communication, social differences, and processing

  • Sensory processing and regulation needs

  • Neuro-affirming approaches and Universal Design

  • Masking and its impacts

  • Co-regulation and emotional safety

  • Practical strategies for classroom structure and transitions

  • Communication and creating predictable, accessible learning environments

  • Supporting autistic students in ways that recognize their strengths, needs, and autonomy
     

Sessions can be tailored for educators, student assistants, administrators, and other school-based staff across all grade levels.
